Library of Michigan History
The Library of Michigan is transitioning to a new site for state government publications. To access materials usually found through this page, please see the link below. We apologize for any inconvenience - if you have any questions, please contact us at email@example.com or 517-335-1477.
Since 1828, before Michigan was a state, the Library of Michigan has served state government and the people of Michigan much as the Library of Congress works at the federal level. The Library's early task was to collect, compile and store Michigan territorial laws and other important documents that formed the basis for Michigan government today.
The Library of Michigan History Collection contains images and documents that chronicle the library's history.
